Hair Styles

If you are thinking of allowing your child to have an extreme haircut or style, please do check in with school first.  Whilst we are happy to celebrate everyone’s individuality and choice, as you’ll understand and appreciate, in line with our school uniform, we do want children to represent not only their families but also their school in in line with our values and expectations.   This is the same as we expect from our staff as set out in our code of conduct.

As parents ourselves, we completely understand how children wish to keep up with fashions and trends but would hope that anything that is too distracting can wait until school holidays, especially the long summer break, where children are not working together in an class-based environment.

Jewellery in School

Children should not wear jewellery in school.  Watches can be worn but are the responsibility of the child.

Only ear studs may be worn but these must be removed during any sports lesson. Please help us by bearing these issues in mind if you are considering having your child’s ears pierced.

Hair slides and accessories including braids should be chosen with care as these may be a Health and Safety hazard.

It is Northamptonshire Education Authority Policy that ear studs MUST be removed before a child can go swimming.
