Northamptonshire Sport believes everyone, no matter what their ability, should have access to sport, recreation and physical activity.
The Northamptonshire Federation of Disability Sport (NFDS) aims to increase the number of disabled people involved in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity within Northamptonshire. In order to achieve this, NFDS has five key goals:
- To act as a collective voice for disability sport both in Northamptonshire and throughout the East Midlands
- To develop partnerships between local voluntary, statutory and private agencies to break down barriers faced by disabled people in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity
- To make sure disabled people have access to sporting opportunities at a level of their choosing and ability, in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity
- To empower disabled people to make a positive contribution in all aspects of sport, recreation and physical activity
- To ensure that each disabled person is treated fairly, without discrimination, regardless of his or her gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation or economic background
123 Magic Programme
Parenting groups aim to improve relationships and behaviours within the home. They help parent/carers build confidence in supporting their children. The 123 Magic programme is suitable for parent/carers of children aged between 2-12 who need support in managing behaviour, encouraging positive behaviour and building self-esteem. Please click here to find out how you can get more support from Autism East Midlands. These are open to parents of children of any age with or without an ASD diagnosis, so please do go along.
They run a variety of drop ins running in Children’s Centres throughout the county, where you can meet other parents of children with ASD, plus bookable appointments in these Children’s Centres too if you would prefer to speak to the Autism Family Advisor in private. Please just turn up to the drop ins at any point, but if you would like to book one of the appointments then contact the Children’s Centre direct to do this.

Tracey Kennedy from Social Inclusion at Kettering Borough Council would like you to know that there is an online referral form if any families are struggling financially and would benefit from help with switching tariffs on gas and electricity, also to check that they are receiving the correct benefits, if they are struggling to manage their money relating to universal credit payments.
Next advice sessions are being held at The Grange Resource Centre, Grange Community Centre, 9 Grange Place, Kettering NN16 0NT on 19th September 2019, 17th October 2019, 14th November 2019 and 12th December 2019 10 am – 11am

The Sarah Agnes Foundation is moving to North Park Community Centre (North Park Drive, Kettering, NN16 9LW). You can make an online referral stating young person would like to access their counselling service in Kettering. They do family, individual and couples therapy and counselling.
